I read all your info. I am a lady and I have issues losing weight from "Antidepressant Discontinuetion Syndrome". What that means is I suddenly stopped an antidepressant I was on for 25 years and it became a nightmare for me, one of the horrors was a sudden weight loss. That I what I need help with. I do not want to get muscles, just want to gain weight.

The question to you is when one loses weight does that mean they lose muscles?

What could help me gain weight?

It states: "Elliot is a raw powerlifter who enjoys researching the science behind how the human body works. He has a BS in Biochemistry." Well I need your expert help what can help me gain weight? God Bless you in advance

Maria,

I would first recommend discussing the situation with your primary care physician.

As far as the weight gain goes, just simply start eating more. If you don't care what sort of weight your gaining you just need to eat more than you're burning.

Your articles are very informative and easy to understand; thank you for that! I noticed in your bio that you are interested in endocrinology and are currently a lab research assistant. I have a question that perhaps you can answer. I was recently diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrome; what is the best way to supplement protein (and what types of protein) in order to prevent further catabolism? I've been combing the internet and have been unable to find any information in regard to hypercortisolism and protein supplementation. I appreciate any information you could provide!
