Often times, how successful you are in the gym comes down to how well you recover outside of the gym. Check out how Kris Gethin recovers in this video.

In this video, we follow Kaged Muscle CEO Kris Gethin through one of his normal off days.

During his off days, Kris takes part in a number of recovery and active recovery techniques.

Recovery is always important. Even more so if you are training for an Ironman while still completing intense weight training workout routines.

Thus, Kris leaves no stone unturned when it comes to recovery.

Trip to Active Health and Wellness

Kris visits Dr. Jason Watson twice a week at Active Health and Wellness. While there, he goes through several preventative and recovery treatments.

The first treatment Kris gets is a realignment to shift his pelvis back into a normal alignment.

Then Kris is hooked up to a bladder of oxygen for O2 therapy. This therapy flushes the system with oxygen which acts as a healer.

Afterwards, Kris straps a device on his shoulder for pulse magnetic field therapy. This therapy sends an electric current to pinpoint and correct problem areas. In Kris’ instance, this means fixing an achy delt.

Lastly at Dr. Watson’s office, Kris performs some whole body cryotherapy. This shuts down inflammation in the entire body.

Yoga Session

After leaving Dr. Watson’s office, Kris heads down to downtown Boise for a yoga class.

Yoga is a great stress reliever, but athletes have to be cautious performing the practice due to inflexibility and muscle imbalances.

However, the overall mindfulness practicing yoga provides to an athlete can help them notice these muscle imbalances and help them prevent injuries from occurring.
