Ingredients

  • 2 cold boiled potatoes
  • 1 lb lean ground (minced) beef
  • Salt and white pepper
  • 3 tbsp of water
  • 2 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 2 Large onions, sliced

Cooking Instructions

Mash the potatoes and mix with the ground beef. Add salt, pepper and water. Work the meat mixture until smooth and shape into patties. Heat a skillet with 1 tbsp butter. Add the onions and cook over moderate heat until golden brown. Transfer the onions to a platter and keep it hot. Melt the remaining butter in the skillet and cook the patties over moderate heat until brown on both sides and cooked thoughout. Serve patties with a sauteed onions and vegetables of your choice.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these Swedish Patties with the onions on top and the vegetables of your choice. In the sample picture I used corn, carrots, broccoli and pumpkin (note, my patties did not stick together properly - thats why it looks like a big pile!)
