Low Cal Fried Slaw With Bacon And Mushrooms Recipe

A perfect low calorie side dish that is easy to make and tastes great. All you need is 2 bags of cabbage slaw, mushroom slices, onion, bacon and a few simple seasonings.

Ingredients

  • 2 bags cabbage slaw mix
  • 1 box fresh slices mushrooms
  • 3 strips lean bacon
  • ½ cup chopped onion (optional)
  • Garlic salt, pepper, Lawry's seasoned salt to taste

Cooking Instructions

Cut up and brown bacon in large heavy skillet.

Do not pour off grease.  Add mushrooms and sauté for a couple of minutes.  If you are using onion add it when you add the mushrooms.

Then add both bags of slaw mix and seasoning.  Cover and cook on low for about ten minutes, then use a pancake turner and slide it under the skillet contents and thoroughly turn over.  Continue cooking and turning every ten minutes or so. 

Cook about 30-40 minutes or until cabbage is tender to you liking.

Makes 6 servings.
