- 8 oz skim milk
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup of oats
- 2 scoops of whey protein powder
Chose your favorite protein powder flavor, and combine all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. The nutritional information for this recipe was based upon a medium banana, and whey protein blend. Recipe provided by Lycanthrope.
This recipe makes one protein shake.
I was hoping to do this without supplements. What’s your take on it?
I was hoping to pick up the 10 week mass building program.
Would you advice me picking up this program without a single supplemet?
Sub in greek yogurt for the whey protein.
You can do any program on M&S without supplements. They are suggested for optimal results, but aren't necessary.
can you use water instead of milk?
You can, Jonathan, just remember to count out the milk calories since you're using water instead.
What can one substitute whey protein powder with if you don't have it yet but still want to try the above recipe?
Hey Ian - you could try greek yogurt
Is it cooked or uncooked oats?pls reply I need this asap
Can we use Oats in uncooked form or it should bhi boiled or soaked?
Is it good drink banana and oats protein shake before bed? Because I am taking my protein shake with water in the morning before breakfast and in the evening after workout.
Do this if you're going to work out next morning after waking up .
If you're not working out , do this for a pre work out or meal replacement

Hi everyone I'm 150 pounds and I'm 5'4 I want to increase my muscle mass and loose belly fat I need help wat would u guys recommend
Please increase your boiled/ steamed vegetables intake, and keep ur body metabolism high by taking black coffee twice a day. U will surely see a good change.
Hey Joi - depends if it fits your calorie goals. You need to be consuming less overall calories than you burn in order to drop bodyfat. Good luck!
is this a good meal replacement if I’m trying to loose belly fat
I have a 13 year old son that is very skinny compare to most kids his age. Will this protein shake help him gain some weight and is it safe for kids to take? Also, I've heard peanut butter is another ingredient for protein shake. Can that be added to this type of shake for weight gain? Please advise.
Stick a spoonful of peanut butter in the mix, it's delicious!
What's with all the dislikes
Steve,im 16 years old and 6'1 185 pounds should I drink one of these shakes before a football practice
If I only do cardio is this shake still good for breakfast meal replacement?
My question for you would be; why do you only do cardio? While cardio is excellent for burning extra calories and cardiovascular health, it does very little to promote fat loss. The weight loss comes mostly from muscle tissue which is crucial to maintaining a lean, tone physique. The more lean muscle a person has on their body, the less fat they will have because muscle aids in burning fat. Try resistance training to build lean muscle tissue and limit your cardio to 20 minute sessions maybe three days a week. DO NOT rely on the scale to gauge your progress as your weight can and will fluctuate throughout the day due to things like water retention, inflammation and so on on. Instead, gauge your progress by the way your clothes fit and use a fat caliper. Although the scale may not seem to move much, it does not mean that you are not succeeding. Remember muscle is more dense than fat and therefore takes up less space. Notice I didn't say that muscle weighs more than fat because well, that's a myth! Overall your goal should be fat loss as opposed to weight loss. Weight loss is oftentimes muscle tissue, water and very little fat which is why people tend to gain all of their weight back. I wish you only great success in your progress and hope that you will do some research to avoid all of the confusing myths out there!
Actually Daisy that's EXACTLY what he said, read the first line again. Why all judgy?
Maybe the poster meant on their cardio day. They never wrote that they ONLY do cardio.
Why all judgy?
I need tip on loosing belly fat and toning up
Here you go, Veeda. Lots of tips can be found here.
Hi steve i have a question for you or a kind of favor that i need from you
i am 80 kg and i want to lose belly fat i dont have too much belly fat but i want to build six pack can u recommend me a program ? Looking forward to your answer
Building a six pack requires a lower body fat percentage. The idea of "spot reducing," or getting rid of fat in one area of the body, is a myth. Belly fat tends to be the most stubborn. I'd recommend looking at some fat-burning routines listed on the site: https://www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/fat-loss
It's also a great idea to have a grasp of how many calories you should be shooting for in a day. There's a really great tool that can help you dial it in: https://www.muscleandstrength.com/tools/bmr-calculator
For your goal, you would want to subtract around 350-450 calories from the number generated in order to lose the unwanted weight. You typically don't want to cut more than that.
I am 54 years of age, 5'6'', 75kg, quite naturally fit....a hard gainer. What would you suggest, excersice and diet wise to gain muscle mass and gain weight.
my weight is 100 pounds and height 5'7" i need to gain weight and muscle but i don't know where to start, i want to achieve at least 150 pounds and i need to know about nutrition and workout that is suitable for me...
sounds like an awesome combo
Awesome tip to make this shake even better, freeze the (peeled) banana. This makes the shake thicker and creamier without adding any extra ingredients.
I also only use 1 scoop of protein, and add 1 teaspoon of natural peanut butter to my smoothies. Tastes absolutely amazing.
can you use whole milk?
I'm a swimmer so I was wondering if I could make this in batches and keep it in the fridge to save time in the mornings?
very similar to the one I just started making. Except I use 2% milk and may even shoot up to using whole milk...awesome shake, I love it!
Hi Steve just quick question seeing that I like to be exact with weight of food, how many grams is half a cup of Oats?
If you have a food scale at home, this is an easy fix. Simply measure a half cup of oats and place on the scale. Account for the container holding the oats.
my old is 16 and my weight is 60kg give me the most way to do protien shake at home and how many times i take it per a day plz help me
